Overview

Only one hour away from Yerevan is the 2 nd biggest high altitude, freshwater Lake in the world which the
locals call the Blue Pearl of Armenia. Right at the lake on the peninsula of Sevan we will visit the
monastery of Sevanavank which is also home to one of the thirteen All-Savior Khachqars(cross-stones) in
the world. Right from the slopes of the peninsula we’ll take a boat ride to the Island of seagulls(40min)
afterwards will have lunch at one of the best restaurant chains in Armenia Yasaman where you’ll have
the chance to taste the Armenian trout(an endemic species of fish which is also include in the Red Book
of Armenia).
Another 40minutes of drive and you will find yourself in the Swithzerland of Armenia- the city of Dilijan.
You can have a nice photo stop at the old part of the city and then we’ll head to the Haghartsin
Monastery which once used to be home for more than 1000 monks and was restored by one of the
most influential Muslim rulers.
Another 15 minutes of drive and we will visit another gem of the Armenian medieval architecture- the
monastery of Goshavanq(11 th -13 th c-s.) named after the founder of the Code of Laws in Medieval
Armenia, parts of which are included in the Code of Laws of modern Republic of Armenia.
The monastery is also home for officially the most beautiful lace khachqar(13 th c).
The way back to Yerevan is 1 hour.
